Heart & Vascular Outpatient Unit (HVOU) |
The HVOU is a fifteen-bed pre/post Cardiac Catheterization procedure care unit operating Monday through Saturday morning. Our nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4:1. Our nurses provide care for patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures including the following: - Coronary angioplasty/stenting
- Pacemaker/ICD Implantation/radiofrequency ablation
- Endomyocardial biopsy
- Diagnosis of congenital anomalies
- Repair of cardiac defects (ASD occlusion)
- A variety of diagnostic coronary and electrophysiologic procedures
- Endovenous laser therapy

Training Orientation is four to six weeks in length with a consistent preceptor. |
Desired Candidates One to two years experience , with ICU/IMCU and/or cardiology experience preferred. Pediatric experience is a plus. ACLS certification will be expected within three months of employment and PALS certification within six months of employment. |
