Heart & Vascular Intensive Care Unit (HVICU)

HVICU is a nineteen-bed interdisciplinary unit offering an excellent nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 or 1:1, so you can truly make an impact.  Our team uses advanced technologies such as Swan-Ganz monitoring, CVVH/D (continuous veno-venous hemofiltration/dialysis), and IABP (intra aortic balloon pumping) to treat:

  • Cardiology
  • Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery

Training
Orientation is six to eight weeks in length with a consistent preceptor.
Desired Candidates
One to two years experience in cardiac/telemetry and/or cardiothoracic/vascular surgical experience.  A previous critical care course is helpful, but not required.  ACLS certification will be expected within three months of employment.  CCRN certification is encouraged.
