Heart & Vascular Care Unit (HVCU) | The HVCU is a sixteen-bed cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery/vascular surgery inpatient unit employing advanced technologies such as arterial line and CVP monitoring. This unit provides for flexible acuity ranging from intermediate level to discharge at an excellent nurse-to-patient ratio. The patient population includes the following: - Cardiology: stable myocardial infarctions, pre/post interventions (angioplasty, stenting, ablations), dysrhythmia management, temporary/permanent pacemakers, ICD implantation
- Cardiothoracic Surgery: post thoracotomy and stable post-op valve repair/replacement
- Vascular Surgery: femoral-popliteal bypass, carotid endarterectomy
| Training Orientation is six to eight weeks in length with a consistent preceptor. | Desired Candidates Minimum of one year experience in telemetry, cardiac/telemetry, and/or cardiothoracic/vascular surgical experience.
