Emergency Department
High positive energy, quick critical thinking and excellent assessment skills are what we look for in the nurses who join our dynamic team.  We are designated as a Level I Regional Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics, treating almost 50,000 patients annually.  Other facts about the Emergency Department:

  • 39% of patients are admitted to the hospital.
  • Approximately 25% of cases are pediatric (under 18 years of age).
  • We average 200 trauma resuscitations per month.
  • General patient acuity is high, with a diversity of challenging disease and injury processes.
Training
In addition to an intensive clinical orientation, all nurses must complete training in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, neonatal resuscitation provider, trauma nursing, and several other exciting programs that are unique to the emergency nursing environment.
Desired Candidates
Basic Life Support and advanced cardiac life support are required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Pennsylvania trauma Nurse credentialing are a plus. Emergency nursing experience is preferred, although those with appropriate experience will be considered. Pre-hospital experience is helpful.
